iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology) India's leading innovation-based start-up incubator announced the launch of EVangelise '22 - India's largest EV innovation challenge, in partnership with Startup India and the CII - CoE for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-ups (CII-CIES). Aimed at solving real-world challenges in the EV industry, the second edition of EVangelise was announced by Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma, Hon'ble Minister of State for Industries, Govt. of Gujarat today Crowne Plaza, Ahmedabad.
iCreate's EVangelise 2022 aims to put India on the global EV map, as a leader in developing clean, low-cost, innovative technologies that solve critical problems that the industry faces. Apart from identifying the next generation of innovators in the EV sub-components segment, EVangelise 2022 will explore opportunities to create solutions in the areas of battery safety and EV infrastructure along with the participation of industry leaders from Niti Ayog, BPCL, Dassault Systems India Pvt Ltd, MyByk, HSBC, Hero Motocorp and eInfochips.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma, Hon'ble Minister of State for Industries, Govt. of Gujarat said, "Gujarat has the highest adoption of battery-operated 2-wheelers in the country, which makes it an ideal proposition for industries to invest in EV manufacturing in the state. We are further incentivizing the demand side, with double the amount of subsidy on EVs than any other state, on a per kWh basis. iCreate's EVangelise innovation challenge will help the industry access indigenous technology in this space. My best wishes for this excellent initiative."
EVangelise '22 is open to individual innovators, start-ups, students, researchers and EV enthusiasts who are driven by a passion for tech innovation and ambition to transform the EV industry. The challenge will witness the participation of some of the most prominent industry players, offering their mentorship support and strategic partnerships with these innovators.

The intent to host EVanglise annually is to be an integral part of India’s transformation towards developing energy-efficient and sustainable transportation solutions. Being one of iCreate’s biggest inventions and one of India’s largest EV innovation challenges, EVangelise was launched with the mission to harness the potential of EV innovators in the industry. While the EV industry is undergoing a paradigm shift in the country, it is crucial that we identify and address challenges at the sub-component level to smoothly transition our way towards sustainable mobility. This year, we aim to bring out the spearheads to solve real-world issues that the EV industry is facing globally at a sub-component level. We witnessed a great enthusiasm from participants last year and hope to see it multiplied with the second edition this year.”
As an institute devoted to promoting growth and fostering an ecosystem that can thrive on sustainable innovation, iCreate will provide access to its facilities, research labs, mentorship support and industry connection to all the EVangelise participants. The top three winners of the tech development category will be awarded cash prizes of INR 10L, INR 7.5L, and INR 5L respectively under each of the three themes, totalling into a grand cash prize of INR 1.12 Crore. For the manufacturing partnership challenge, the winners will be awarded strategic partnerships and tie-ups with the relevant industry players.
