EVangelise ’23 Bootcamp Showcases EV Innovations

iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology), an innovation-based startup incubator, is hosting the 5-day Bootcamp, EVangelise 2023 at its campus near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The bootcamp, from November 3 to 7, is showcasing solutions to real world challenges faced by the EV industry in India by the top 40 innovators from more than 2700 entries.

EVangelise ’23 Bootcamp Showcases EV Innovations

iCreate hosted the five-day EVangelise ’23 Bootcamp from 3 to 7 November 2023 at its campus near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The bootcamp brought together the top 40 innovators selected from more than 2,700 entries to showcase solutions for real-world challenges in India’s electric vehicle sector.

India’s Largest EV Innovation Challenge

EVangelise ’23 travelled across 20 states through 49 roadshows and networking events, creating opportunities for innovators from across India to participate.
The challenge recorded a 133.45% increase in applications compared with the previous edition, highlighting the growing interest in EV technology innovation across the country.

Showcasing EV Technology Innovations

EVangelise ’23 invited innovations across different stages of development under three key EV technology themes:
  • Traction
  • Energy & Telematics
  • Intelligence and Connectivity (TIC)
The winners of EVangelise ’23 were eligible for a total cash prize of INR 56 lakh.

From Innovation to Industry

EVangelise ’23 went beyond identifying promising technologies. The challenge focused on helping innovators connect with industry partners, access capital and receive incubation support to accelerate growth and scalability.
The bootcamp also provided opportunities for participants to learn from technology experts through masterclasses conducted by experts from Ansys and MathWorks.

Two Stages of Innovation

EVangelise ’23 featured two categories based on the stage of technology development.
Idea Stage: Startups with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) below 5 could present their concepts and explore opportunities to form strategic partnerships with industrial partners.
Scale-up Stage: Startups with a TRL of 5 and above could connect with venture capital firms and explore funding opportunities to support their growth and expansion.

Supporting India’s Electric Mobility Future

EVangelise ’23 built on iCreate’s efforts to identify and nurture EV innovations from across India.
Through the bootcamp, innovators gained access to industry connections, mentorship, funding opportunities and incubation support to help move promising technologies towards commercialisation.
The initiative also supported India’s broader vision for electric mobility by encouraging the development of indigenous EV technologies and solutions.

From Ideas to Impact

EVangelise ’23 demonstrated the growing strength of India’s EV innovation ecosystem. By bringing innovators, industry experts, investors and technology partners together, the programme created a platform for promising technologies to move closer to the market.
